Lifesaving technology locates man who wandered away from Newark Senior Center

An 80 year old New Castle County man, who suffers from dementia, was located Thursday night several miles away from the Newark Senior Center, with the assistance of the Project Lifesaver Program. This is the first documented successful use of the technology in the area. At 3:35 p.m., on Thursday, County Police responded to the Newark Senior Center for a report of a missing person who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. When the officers arrived, they contacted the victim’s son who reported his father was missing from the center.
