April 2005
On April 13, 2005 the Dona
Ana County Sheriff's Department was notified of a missing
Project Lifesaver client at 12:00. The subject had
walked away from home and then fallen down a small
embankment near an irrigation ditch and was unable to get up
on his feet. The officer on scene immediately obtained
a signal and then walked to the subject within a few
minutes. The subject was recovered at 12:13.
When the officer on the scene located the subject, the
subject was face down on the ditch bank, and was hidden from
view by weeds and other plants. The soles of the
subjects shoes were the only thing visible. Family
members had been on the ditch bank and had not seen the
subject due to brush and weeds.
