The historical recollection of Project Lifesaver, termed a “real life page-turner,” explores topics such as leadership, obstacles & triumphs, and the road less taken on one man’s journey to save lives

(Port Saint Lucie, Florida & Chesapeake, Virginia – April 25, 2019) Just a few short weeks following the celebration of Project Lifesaver’s 20th Anniversary, the history of the organization is officially hitting bookstands across thousands of online retailers and select few brick-and-mortar locations.

Authored by esteemed reporter, journalist, and communications specialist, Nora Firestone, Deploying High conveys the life, leadership and lessons learned by Chief Gene Saunders in his mission to save lives and bring loved ones home through Project Lifesaver International, the leading force in special-focus search and rescue for the cognitively impaired. The novel recalls the early life of the organization’s founder and CEO, capturing the events along his life’s journey that led to the creation of Project Lifesaver, which under his leadership has been credited with saving the lives of more than 3,500 individuals.

“For more than a decade, I have been in awe of Project Lifesaver and the incredible vision, drive, and tenacity of Chief Gene Saunders,” exclaimed Firestone. “Throughout this entire process, I have learned more than I ever could have expected about life and leadership through the example of Saunders. Each day, I continue to be inspired by his exemplary, kind, purposeful, and passionate leadership and sense of mission – which I hope will also resonate with all the readers of Deploying High.”

Published by Koehler Books, a Virginia Beach-based company, Deploying High will be released on May 24, 2019, in hardcover, paperback, and eBook formats. Those who are interested can pre-order their preferred version, which is available now through many online retailers, such as Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
