The Project Lifesaver 5K and 1 Mile Family Run/Walk Presented by Hendricks Regional Health is being held at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds, to promote awareness for Project Lifesaver of Hendricks County. Project Lifesaver is a proactive response to identify those individuals within the community who have a tendency to wander away from their caretakers due cognitive disorder such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Autism and Down Syndrome. The program consists of a small radio transmitter that the client wears on their wrist or ankle. Each transmitter has a frequency that is unique to the client. They can then be tracked by receiving equipment used by highly trained emergency responders.
