A Special Message from the Chairman of the Board on Project Lifesaver’s 20th Anniversary

Today, April 9, 2019, officially marks the 20-year anniversary since I enrolled the very first client into Project Lifesaver. Our organization has reached much success, but none of that would be possible without the help, encouragement, and support from all the people Project Lifesaver has had the privilege to encounter over the last two decades. These individuals have not gone unnoticed, and in the days leading up to this significant milestone, a very special commendation was sent from our Chairman of the Board recognizing further, the hard work and dedication given by the Project Lifesaver staff, day in and day out, for the last 20 years.

To: Founder and Chief Gene Saunders, Chief of Operations Paul Ballance, Chief of Logistics Scott Nester and the entire staff of Project Lifesaver

From: Rick Derus, Chairman, Board of Trustees for Project Lifesaver

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I would like to pass on my sincere congratulations on your 20th Anniversary!

From its humble beginnings, Project Lifesaver has always been proud of the dedicated employees who continue to make this program the success it is year after year.

On a daily basis our PLI staff, without exception, manages to overcome obstacles, limited funding and often too much work for too little time to deliver our services in such a professional manner.

Right from those who push out the orders all the way to the Chief, every member carries out their duties with distinction, a sense of urgency and a level of caring/compassion unheard of in most non-profit agencies.

I would also be remiss if I did not specifically honour Chief Gene Saunders, who for 20 years now, has successfully lead this organization with an unwavering commitment to "bringing loved ones home".

You need to know how proud we as a Board of Directors are of our employees.  Without you, PLI would not be the industry leader in providing valuable lifesaving services to those who wander.

So I will close with two words that come right from the heart of every PLI Board Member, law enforcement officer, family members of our clients and from those that often cannot speak......thank you.
