SOS Healthcare Wicked Hot 5K

Wicked Fitness presents their 5K Run/Walk: Capes and Crowns Edition Race. The 5K race is for all ages and will be held rain or shine. Wicked Hot Run is a USATF certified 5K course. On race day, participants will enjoy three terrains-paved roads, forest trails, and sand. Currently the finish line will be on the sand, tide permitting. Racers needing an instant cool down can be revitalized by taking a dip in the Atlantic Ocean. Palmetto Events and Timing is overseeing all professional times the latest “chip” technology. Visit www.palmettotiming.com for race results. Race begins promptly at 7:30 am for 5K. 1 mile Fun Run 8:45 am.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit SOS Health Care and their Project Lifesaver program.

Race Fee: Youth $30 (pre-registration)/$35 (race day) Adult $35 (pre-registration)/$40 (race day).

Fee includes: Race day shirt, bib, Race Chip, entrance fee into State Park. 1 Mile Fun Run $15 (Includes Entrance into Park however it’s not timed & t-shirt not included)
Prizes: Awards to 5K Top Male and Female ages 16 and under. Awards to 5K Top Male and Female ages 17 and older
Provisions: USATF certified course; nutritional food and water; plenty of volunteers; scenic State Park setting
Professional Timing By: Palmetto Events and Timing using RM Timing systems utilizing “Chip” technology. Live Results provided.

Costumes are encouraged (Superheroes, Capes, Tutus, Crowns, the crazier the better) but they are NOT required for this race.

Awards will be presented to top 5K male and female ages 16 and under and ages 17 and older.

Project Lifesaver is a transmitting bracelet worn by individuals that helps provide rapid response to save lives and reduce potential for serious injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer’s, Autism, Down syndrome, dementia and other related cognitive conditions. Project Lifesaver provides equipment, training, certification and support to law enforcement, public safety organizations and community groups throughout the country and nation. Each transmitting band is $350 and every 4-6 weeks, there is approximately a $60 battery replacement.
