How time flies when you’re saving lives

Twenty-six years ago this week, a developing idea finally hatched that would go on to save and change the lives of countless individuals with autism, dementia and other cognitive disorders and those who strive to protect them.
The concept? Rapid-response search and rescue for people prone to wandering due to cognitive conditions.
How to deliver? By training, certifying and equipping local law-enforcement, first-responder and other public-safety agencies to deploy the most reliable and effective technology (radio-frequency, or “RF,” transmitters and receivers) and proven strategic methodologies to locate missing participants quickly and efficiently, saving precious time and resources to save precious lives.
And what should we call it? Project Lifesaver, of course.
Please join us all month (which is also Autism Awareness Month) in celebrating the 26th birthday of Project Lifesaver and all who have joined, strengthened and supported this critical mission since April 9, 1999. We would offer you birthday cake if we could, but we’ll be with you in spirit as you indulge.
Or we could meet in-person!
So … speaking of cake … there’s bound to be some of that and more at the next annual Project Lifesaver conference. Known as the most impactful and highest quality event of its kind, the Project Lifesaver conference is usually held in Orlando, Florida, at the end of August and is open to member agencies and non-members alike. Anyone seeking education, training, and deeper insight into living with, working with, search-and-rescue for and better understanding people with autism, dementia and other cognitive conditions and how to protect and assist them is encouraged to attend.
If you’re not yet familiar with the impact of Project Lifesaver programs throughout North America and beyond, watch (and share) a growing sampling of news coverage about the life-saving technology, methodology and rescues here: www.youtube.com/@ProjectLifesaverInternational
Conference early-bird pricing is in effect for a limited time. First responders, public-safety professionals, parents, caregivers, educators and all, we hope to see you there. We promise you a truly transformational experience among peers and some of the most renowned first-responder and special-needs experts, leaders, practitioners and ambassadors in their respective fields.
Finally, if you’d like for me or another knowledgeable PLI staff member to speak/present to your group or association, either in-person (when possible) or via a video meet, we’ll be happy to oblige if given enough notice. Please send a simple request at our Contact Us page to get that ball rolling.
Truly,
Chief
