Project Lifesaver International is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that has been serving local communities across the US and Canada for nearly a quarter of a century. Project Lifesaver and its member agencies have a shared vision of what it means to serve the most vulnerable in their communities. Our services and programs are designed to allow people with cognitive conditions that are prone to the life-threatening behavior of wandering and their families to live with dignity, peace of mind, and independence in their own homes and communities.
Public safety agencies that have adopted the Project Lifesaver program for use in their community establish and sustain collaborative partnerships with the families, community organizations, state agencies, faith-based groups, local schools, and other community stakeholders. Through this network of support, Project Lifesaver member agencies demonstrate what it means to be part of the “whole” community.
The Project Lifesaver program promotes safety and equity in communities. With nearly a quarter-century of protecting the most vulnerable, Project Lifesaver has learned many lessons from an abundance of agency success. These lessons have enabled us to grow as a program and offer better and safer practices to all communities. This makes Project Lifesaver a vital resource that can be implemented in your community, as well.
If the Project Lifesaver program is not available in your local community, contact your local public safety agency.
